Spring is approaching, which means nicer weather and brighter evenings. Whooo! I think we can all agree that this winter was an extremely tough one. Looking for some ideas on what you can do with the kids this spring? Keep on reading!
Kilkenny Castle
First up is Kilkenny Castle. This spot most definitely ranks in at number one on the to-do list. Kilkenny Castle is a brilliant location for a family day out, weather permitting, of course. There are lots to do from visiting the playground, rose gardens, feeding the ducks, going for a walk along the grounds, to having an outdoor picnic! You might even be lucky and catch the ice cream van!
Splatball at Kilkenny Activity Centre
Looking for something a little bit more adventurous? Get the kids outdoors for an hour with an activity of Splatball, at Kilkenny Activity Centre. Splatball is an extremely popular activity enjoyed by lots of kids! Like paintball, but less impactful, Splatball is great fun!
Castlecomer Discovery Park
Another recommendation is taking a trip out to Castlecomer Discovery Park, if you’re located in Kilkenny, treat it like a mini road trip! The Discovery Park has lots to offer families from walking trails, adventure activities and lots more! It’s a perfect spot to get the kids out and about!
Walking Trails
Going out walking is another fun family activity now that the evenings are getting brighter. Kilkenny has so many various short walking trails suitable for families. See below a list of our recommendations:
- Jenkinstown Wood And Walled Garden Walk
